15 Minutes A Day

Have you ever experienced a moment when your whole world becomes very clear because something strikes you? The moment your mind stops working, you notice the beauty of your surroundings. It could be the way the sun strikes the rocks on the corner of the parking lot, or the way the light bounces off the surface of the water, or the brilliant colors of the garden that only light up in a particular way at a particular time of day. A lot of times, the beauty of the world passes us by in our everyday lives. If one were to take a trip outside of that norm, generally they are more open to “taking in” the beauty of life.  If you take 15 minutes out of your day, everyday, and consciously decide to take in the beauty of the world, you may be surprised at what you will find, what will be inspiring to you, and what will change the way you look at things.

The idea of this exhibit is to take 15 minutes out of every single day, for one year (no matter where we are) and photograph the world around us. This would not just be arbitrary photography, rather really taking in the world for its beauty and trying to capture that beauty in that exact moment of time. At the end of the journey, we want to showcase 3 dozen blown up renditions of some of the most astounding discoveries during this 15 minute period of time. What types of world will we discover? What will inspire something beautiful? There are some obvious things that would come to mind of course, but we truly believe that there will be a lot of surprising ones as well.
